The US FDA cleared Medtronic's MiniMed Go system, which pairs the InPen smart insulin pen with Instinct, a new continuous glucose monitoring sensor lasting up to 15 days and made by Abbott.

Instinct is the result of a partnership between Medtronic and Abbott announced in 2024, and is presented as one of the smallest, most discreet sensors on the market. Unlike other systems, MiniMed Go is designed specifically for people with diabetes who inject insulin with a pen rather than use a pump.

The MiniMed Go app combines sensor data with dose logs from the InPen to show glucose and insulin delivery together, aiming to make treatment decisions easier without needing to wear an insulin pump.
